(New York, 1 May 2018): AFS Intercultural Programs announces the appointment of Rita Jarecsni as Chief Financial Officer. Jarecsni will work with the AFS President and CEO, Daniel Obst, as well as with the Board of Trustees and senior management to lead all financial management, business planning, and budgeting. Jarecsni will develop financial policy and direction for the AFS Network, working with the Executive Directors and finance managers of the 60 AFS Network Organizations around the world.

Jarecsni brings a wealth of experience to this new position, having most recently served as Executive Director of AFS Hungary since 2012. During her tenure, AFS Hungary achieved impressive growth, doubling the number of participants in a 5-year period. Prior to joining AFS, Jarecsni worked for different financial institutions, including at OTP Voluntary Pension Fund, the largest publicly-traded financial group in Hungary, and as Executive Director of AXA Mandatory and Voluntary Pension Fund, a French multinational financial group, with nearly USD 700 million assets under management. There, she was responsible for management of the fund’s overall operations, including overseeing the financial management of both the private and the voluntary pension fund business lines and all back-office activities. Jarecsni holds a graduate degree in Economics and an undergraduate degree in International Trade and Marketing.
